Food court fight led to shooting scare at Glendale's Arrowhead Mall – KPNX

GLENDALE, Ariz. — A chaotic scene at Arrowhead Mall in Glendale ended with a person being detained Sunday afternoon.
Officers were called out to the mall around 4 p.m. after receiving calls of a possible shooting in the food court.
Police said a food court employee got into a confrontation with three customers that escalated to him going outside to retrieve a firearm from his car. The employee allegedly returned to the mall with his gun holstered.
A witness noticed the armed employee and started screaming, causing other customers to run out of the food court, police said.
The sounds of chairs following over led some to believe shots were being fired, police said.
However, police determined that no gunshots were actually fired but one person was detained related to the alleged threat.
No other suspects are still wanted, police said.
Since officers determined no shots were fired, the detained individual was released by police.
The investigation is still ongoing.
