Oct 7 (Reuters) – Delta weakened slightly into a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said on Wednesday.
Now about 80 miles (130 km) east south-east of Cozumel, Mexico with maximum sustained winds of 120 miles per hour (195 kph), it is expected to strengthen again when it moves over the southern Gulf of Mexico Wednesday night and Thursday, the NHC said.
