The cost of a better life was not small for this family. This emotional reunion of a brother and sister long parted proves that.
Benito Saavedra has spent 24 years away from his family. More than two decades ago, he left Torreón in the Mexican state of Coahuila and immigrated to the United States in hopes of giving his wife and children a better life. In doing so, he had to leave his mom and siblings behind.
Benito and his wife’s family continued to grow as they built a life in their new home, but they couldn’t visit the rest of his family.
Two of his sisters and their children planned a trip to see their long-lost brother in Dallas, Texas. What Benito didn’t know was that his third sister, Eva, was about to be reunited with him for the first time in 24 years.
Even as the family poses for a picture, Benito is completely unaware that Eva is standing behind him. As he examines the picture, he can’t believe his eyes.
Watch the moment Benito realizes his sister Eva is part of the long-awaited reunion!
His family planned this emotional reunion for a father that has given up so much for them – and they were happy to give something back.
